The Upper West Region has recorded 214 Meningitis cases with 33 deaths in the last three months, Dr. Kuffuor Affreh has said
This was revealed in a meeting held by the Public Health Epidemic Management Committee (PHEMC) Today
The regional director of health service, Dr. Kuffuor Afreh disclosed in the meeting that the cases were recorded between January and March
Updating the committee on coronavirus, the director revealed that the region recorded one confirmed case of COVID-19 with 16 primary contacts and 40 secondary contacts traced.
“The Regional Committee is working very hard to prevent further spread of the novel Coronavirus disease in the region.” Dr. Afreh stated
He appealed to individuals from the region to come to their aid saying “all sons and daughters of the Upper West Region are entreated to come to the aid of the region to help fight these two deadly diseases the region is bedeviled with. No amount is small.”
He further admonished the public to adhere strictly to the precautionary measures to overcome COVID-19.
