Former Upper west Regional Health Director, Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh has been cleared of wrong doing leading to his transfer from the upper west Regional Health directorate to the headquarters of the Ghana Health Service.
A group by name “Concerned Citizens Upper west ” led by Issahaque Suleiman petitioned the headquarters of the Ghana health service for the immediate removal of the then regional health director,Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh citing reasons including financial malfeasance and mismanagement of office.
This led to the transfer of Dr. Afreh to the headquarters as investigation were conducted to find the truth of the matter.
Letters were served to Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh ,the petitioners ( Concerned Upper west Citizens) and the Upper west Health directorate from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for the 3 parties to witness the hearing of the pending verdict on the upper west region on Wednesday,12th August 2020.
The investigation report was read and Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh was cleared of any wrong doing before the parties involved on August 12th 2020.
However, The reports charged the concerned Citizens of the upper west region of violating The Company’s Act2019 as running an unregistered group .
Accordingly, the the BNI has cleared Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh of any wrongdoing. It is un clear as to whether Dr. Afreh will be back in the upper west region as the regional director of the GHS.
