A mother and her three visually impaired children has been abandoned by the father of the children and also her husband in Tanziri Nyoli, a village under the Wa West district of the Upper West Region of Ghana.
The mother ( Nyourwile Rose) is approximately 39 t0 40 years of age, and the first child named Gloria is 16 years old, second child Peter is 12 years old whiles the third child Gordon 5 years old, were all born blind.
Speaking to the mother Nyourwile Rose ,she said “these children were born blind and they got abandoned by their father because of their condition, myself and their uncles are peasant farmers and sometimes have to carry garden sticks to the market to sell to be able to cater for the basic needs of these children. We make an amount of GHc 3.
Basically, the said amount she said is what is mostly used to provide for a meal in a day which makes feeding, clothing and other basic needs of these children very difficult for them.
Diamond Foundation who paid this visit to these family is a youth oriented organization which was formed by three students from the upper west region in 2018, with the vision of transforming the lives of women and children to fight teenage pregnancy, and alleviate poverty among themselves thereby ensuring a better future for women and children in the upper west region and beyond. it also aims at helping individuals mostly in the rural areas who lack basic social needs such as food, clothing etc.
